Exodus 20:24 says, “You shall make an altar of earth to Me.” The Hebrew word behind “earth” is adamah, the source of Adam and all mankind. Later God said that the stones (earth) used to build the altar must be unshaped by man, untouched by metal tools. Although the literal meaning of the words is true first, this also means that true worship and true religion comes from real people shaped by the hand of God and not by the hands and doctrines of other men. It’s good that we’re all different! God wants natural stones, not bricks.

I like you anyway. Although I could give you some advice on spending money. I’m apparently really good at that. At least my husband is always stunned at how quickly it disappears.

My middle son is a single dad trying to raise his two daughters and a son of his own… I share your blog with him so he – at 24 – can hopefully see there is more like “him” than just him. For example, there’s you, and there’s me. We don’t always agree, though we mostly do. (that would be the aforementioned three guys) Hang in there brother I pray for you. Real prayers, not the ”lookit me prayin’ kind”. Be blessed in the new decade.

from the sound of this…I’m guessing someone has been nagging you….duuuuuuh!

We just got back from Chicago…my baby boy just graduated from navy boot camp!…he’s a MAN now!!…I think I can pretty much say I just witnessed the best day of his entire life. (so far…there will be many more to come as well as failures) I have never seen him anymore proud of himself..self confident and just on a natural high of happiness. I fought back tears! Now he’s on his way to SC Charleston..Nuke school!

I don’t think you should take the measure of a man… you should take the full base of a man…. and then that matrix you’re talking about, it’s probably not the right one… here, use THIS one. And make sure you get lots of good sleep and raise your daughters the way everybody else does and make sure they get lots of commercialism…. wait… I meant Satan…. wait… I meant Santa this Holiday Season!

Still need to make some creme brulee for my wife… her birthday’s coming up and I’ve been told that I should do something special…. Nah, not really. I love her.
