Good point, John. I thought the same thing when I read Mike’s comment.

At the same time, I completely disregard the notion of trading “up” or “down” when speaking of human relationships. People are hurting and do stupid things when they’re hurting. But nothing anyone says or does makes them more or less.

I don’t like the idea of “grading” humans. We throw around terms like “white trash” or “nigger” without even remembering that God loves the guy to whom I addressed this post and even Britney, too.

(I didn’t mean to go pious on ya. I’ve just been thinking a lot lately about God’s love and how we misuse it.)

I don’t know about it being much of an insult to see your ex trade down. Think about Brittney Spears and Kevin Federline. She could have had any man that she wanted, but chose that piece of trailer trash instead. Supposedly he was celebrating at a strip club the night his first legitimate child was being born. Sometimes you gotta just shake your head and realize that you can never make some people who have strictly beer tastes happy with a champaigne lifestyle.

There is nothing worse than seeing an ex trade down. It would be bad enough to lose a gal to a better man. You could understand that. When they go for some POS its adding insult to injury.
