Surfin’ with the antichrist

If you decide to visit the site, make sure your Sword is sharp before you go poking around or you can get turned around pretty fast. That’s why I’ve never posted about it before. You can start out there amused at how preposterous it all seems and before you know it, you’re asking very dangerous questions. It’s most definitely not for baby Christians. It wouldn’t hurt to re-read Ephesians 6:10-17 first.
The antichrist is on the earth and, not surprisingly, he has a web site. In fact, his domain was registered in 1994, before most of you had ever even heard of the internet. (Also not surprising is that his site is hosted on Microsoft Internet Information Server, but I digress.)
Lest you think this is a joke, let me give you the background on my introduction to “Maitreya.” I first started hearing about the creep and his “John the Baptist,” Benjamin Creme, from Christian eschatologists when I was but a child in the early 80’s. They never, that I can recall, asserted that he was the antichrist. They hinted at it. Of course, back then, in the dark, ancient world before the public internet, it was quite difficult to get information on such things.
Fast forward to 1998…
I’m having a conversation with a friend on the phone and he asks me if I remember all that stuff about Maitreya, the antichrist is on earth, etc. I say, “Yeah. Kind of.” and he proceeds to tell me that he had just been reminded of all that because he saw a segment on “Unexplained Mysteries” about Ben Creme and the Maitreya. It got me thinking about it again and it didn’t take me long to hit the search engines to see what could be seen online.
That’s how I found his web site. I spent a good deal of time over the next few weeks reading and listening to the stuff there. I listened to interviews as well as the messages from Maitreya (as channeled through Ben Creme) and quickly came to the conclusion that this was the antichrist.
I won’t go into all of it here, but just to hit the high points, Creme claims:
- Jesus is one of many that has achieved the level of a “Master” and that we’re all capable of attaining it. He further asserts that the four biblical gospels are a beautiful retelling of Jesus’ pathway to becoming a Master. Among others that have attained “Master,” of course, are Buddha, Krishna and Mohammed.
- The Maitreya will have his “emergence” when the time is right and no one knows when that is. In fact, it seems even Maitreya doesn’t know because it apparently depends on when we silly humans get ready. (I suspect the truth is, he doesn’t know because it’s not up to him and he’s not allowed yet.)
- He (Ben Creme) has already met with the head of a “worldwide television news organization” and they have an agreement that when it’s time for the emergence of Maitreya, said worldwide news organization will turn over their airwaves worldwide, on short notice, to Maitreya. (I bet both his initials are T. Except, he’s not in charge of said worldwide television news organization anymore. I wonder if that screwed up Maitreya’s plans?)
- On the day of Maitreya’s great emergence, he will “overshadow” all of humanity and every man, woman and child on earth will hear Maitreya in their own mind and in their own language. (Heh. Try it! This human spirit already has an occupant and there is no more room at this inn.)
- Jesus is on earth and has been since shortly after his resurrection. He lived in Israel for some time but is presently living in Rome.
- As soon as Maitreya emerges, he will reintroduce the Masters into the world. The first one he will introduce will be Jesus. (I think I remember reading that it would be done in Rome, but I’m not certain of that.)
The real juice, though, came in an interview with Art Bell. Art asked Ben point blank, “Many of my listeners are Christians who would say you’re talking about the antichrist. How do you respond to that?”
Creme said that Christians are rather confused about what the Bible says about antichrist. He said the Bible says that “antichrist” is a spirit that denies Christ. That much is true. He then began to make a very well-stated and false case using scripture twisted and liberally salted with new age inanities that he purportedly got from Maitreya. He said that the antichrist spirit is bound for “a time, times and half a time” as the Bible says (his words – the Bible doesn’t quite say that). He says that the last appearance of the antichrist spirit was in Nazi Germany during World War II and that after WWII, that spirit was bound and will be bound for a time, times and half a time. According to him those “times” refer to the ages which are each one thousand years. So, he says, the antichrist spirit has been bound since 1945 and will be for another 2440 years.
But that’s not the worst of it. Here’s the part where he reveals the blasphemous, antichrist spirit behind him and the Maitreya. He says God has the power to bind that antichrist spirit easily, but only because that antichrist spirit is part of God. He explained that it’s like yin and yang and that one side of God is inherently creative while the other side is inherently destructive. Just like us humans created in God’s image, says he. God occasionally releases the antichrist spirit – God’s destructive side – to destroy the things that no longer please Him, so that He can then create anew in their place. The last time God unleashed his destructive side, World War II was the result.
So Jesus is one of many Masters and God is a schizophrenic anti-Semite. Ooh-TAY. Got it.
For the record, I personally believe that this is the foundational work of the antichrist. I’m not married to the idea, can’t prove it and don’t really care other than as a curiosity. I do find it fascinating that Ben Creme has spent most of his life doing this (about 40 years now), has never really changed the original story and has managed to be low-key yet still build quite a following. That lends credibility to the whole thing, in my opinion anyway. I mean, it’s not the latest fad and Creme was “New Age” before Hollywood had even heard of it.

Dude, the first time I heard this guy (Creme) was on Art Bell spewing his nonsense about this clown being Jesus and Moses and all this other horsesh**. Then I find his site and read all the “Miracles” he’s performing, and the mystery schools and all this stuff, and I’ll be damned if he isn’t a walking talking demon right out in the daylight.
And people are starting to follow him more and more. All it’s going to take is a few celebrities to fall for him, and he’ll have TV coverage up the wazoo, and that ‘aint good.
Thing is, Billy, he’s already had that coverage. Creme was on The Merv Griffin show in 1982, for cryin out loud.
It’s the fact that it’s all kept so low key while simultaneously being publicized that really convinces me.
I had completely forgotten about this man until reading your most recent post. If people really start taking this dude seriously, we’re gonna have another Koresh on our hands.
Koresh was never even in the same league. Add to that the facts that this guy’s been around since long before Koresh and has for years had a following that dwarfs anything Koresh ever dreamt of and you begin to see there is really no comparison.

I know positively that Maitreya is the anti christ I was shown by god a vision of hell and on the way there was maitreya. He is just a figure head for satan the original Maitreyer was Negro. Now he has much lighter skin. He has been shown as a black african on a television documentary in the 80,s God,s Blessing on us all.

None us can be saved by labeling ourselfs. Is your name, Billie written the book of Life, or will it be blotted out? Faith without works is dead. So many have died for what they believe in. I guess that is the last thing that could be asked of us all, are we willing to give our life if needs be???

The only thing that can happen, is what we choose for ourself! I never thought I’d lose, I always thought I’d win. I know that the Lord lives, that’s the testimony that I give to you Billie. I’ll tell you a secret billie, only good comes from the Lord. And evil comes from the devil, he is not capable of doing or giving anything other than evil.
So Billie if there is evil and good in your life, know where they come from and depart from evil while you can.
Well, if he is the anti-christ, then I’m going to hell, because all this man teaches is peaceful messages. Maitreya teaches the same words of Jesus. The words and messages that most Christians have forgotten.
And honestly… do you really think that if Jesus was walking the earth right now, that he would not be condemned all over again??? Of course he would because people (especially Christians) have so much fear because of the wrong teachings and interpretations of the bible.
Recently a Church near me posted a sign that read… “JESUS LOVES OSAMA” …. People went nuts, demanded it be brought down…. but I know and the bible tells us, that that is 100% correct.
Your post was full of fear and hate…. You have forgotten that Jesus told us to love our neighbours and our enemies.

I am just an ordinary gal that does not go to Church but believes in God (and of course has ?’s) and you know what? this Gal is very CONFUSED about all of this! Well, I want to be in the Religion God and Christ wants for us, but how do we know which one? I’m not intellectual about the bible. And get alot of help from online sites. I have been online and Googled about this Maitreya guy, and the guy scares me. It seems to me that everyone online thinks he is the antichrist. I just hope when this guy comes out like the Creme guy says, that I will make the right decision for me and my family. And that is not to go with him and follow him. I just pray that it’s the right decision I make. It’s all too scary! But, if he is the 3rd Antichrist-my ? is where does Nostradamus get the Mobas word? If Maitreya is the 3rd Antichrist where is Mobas in his name or whatever? Someone enlighten me!
