Met a girl, thought she was grand
Fell in love found out first hand
Went well for a week or two
Then it all came unglued

In a trap trip I can't grip
never thought I'd be the one who'd slip
then I started to realize
I was livin' one big lie

Chorus:
She f***in' hates me
Trust
She f***in' hates me
La la la love
I tried too hard and she tore my feelings
like I had none and ripped them away

She was queen for about an hour
After that, s**t got sour
She took all I ever had
No sign of guilt no feelin bad no

In a trap trip I can't grip
Neva thought I'd be the one who'd slip
Then I started to realize
I was livin' one big lie

Chorus

That's my story, as you see
Learned my lesson and so did she
Now it's over, and I'm glad
'Cause I'm a fool for all I've said

Now that's word smithin'. Courtesy of Puddle of Mudd.

Hey DC, in the files at fountainheadmetal in the Electro-Hip-Hop-Libertarian-Funk folder, the Tribute.mp3, preview that track if you can from your end, I'll be posting it on the blog on the Fourth. Just things that have greatly influenced me growing up...

I love country. I think it's in my genes. I happen to love the bagppipes, too. Country was born out of bluegrass Irish wailing about their green isle.

I love the way everything sings in Country. The melody, the harmonies, violin and guitars. Everything sings.

My father was in a rock band in the sixties. Nobody can believe the way he loves country in his old age. This is the man that spoon fed me Steeley Dan like pablum when I was a lass. I still love Steely Dan. I think it's genetically woven into my happy censors.

"What is it about county?" people ask him.

"It's where the melodies are in music nowdays." I think there's something to that.

I also love the great language and simple stories.

"I'll never get over those blue eyes." sung in perfect, seemless, rounded 5 part harmony.

That is one heck of a line. LOVE IT!

In heaven I play iviolin in a bluegrass band and sing like Loretta Lynn.

I guess that's why I like country music as much as I do. Where else are you going to get song titles like "She Got The Goldmine (I Got The Shaft)" or "If The Phone Doesn't Ring, It's Me"?
