I love a good blogfight

June 2nd, 2005

It seems our little corner of the blogosphere is buzzing with a testosterone-laced fight over what it means to be a man. It’s because of that foul temptress, Elena. I think she started it on purpose just to watch the boys fight. In the words of Roscoe P. Coltrane, “Naughty, naughty. Coo! Coo!”

I’m kidding joking, of course. Elena didn’t start the fight. The fight was started by a bunch of boys that are insecure in their masculinity and choose to address the problem in opposite ways.

Both sides are partly right.

I will most definitely weigh in on this issue with my opinion, but I don’t have time to do so right now.

Stay tuned. I’ll put it to rest tonight on this same bat channel.

  1. I still thought, like Res, that StarGazer and A.P. were women until they pointed out they were not. StarGazer comes across as a feminized man. And StarGazer’s claim that idiocy brings out the “Daria” in him proves the point. He uses a female character to describe his reaction. Come on, how many guys do you know that would do that?

    DC,
Didn’t you duke it out with Nate ‘n his posse a few months ago over a similar topic? That got rather spirited, iirc.

  3. Kidding. LOL

  4. I think Elena just likes to see the men fight each other in order to impress her.

    ;)

    (JK, Elena! :D)

That’s the only reason I do it, Miss O’Hara.

I just hope it works. Oh, how I pray it works.

    Who you talk’n ‘bout Willis?

  7. I got all twisted up in a spiritual quandary about it, in addition. How much do you take seriously in life? And how much do you let go and laugh about it?

StarGazer doesn’t see himself as Daria, the girl. He’s referring to her sarcastic wit, her pessimism, and tendency to not like people. He knows that he has to fight against this tendency.

  8. Yes Elena, but he still picked a girl to describe himself. That says much about him Couldn’t have found someone male like say, Hank Hill? He has those tendencies too.

  9. You got me, JohnR. I dunno…

  10. DC, I have it on good authority that Elena is even MORE interested in a man-fight when one of the combatants bears a rose between his teeth.

  11. If he’s like Antonio Banderas as Zorro, yes. Most definitely yes!

But if he’s like smarmy Prince Charming in Shrek 2, no, no, no, no, NO!
