Stupid blog quizzes

May 22nd, 2005

As I’ve previously mentioned, I rarely do these stupid blog quiz things because I find them silly. However, occasionally I find one that amuses me. Today I found two. I post the first because it backs up a recent post of mine. As with all of these goofy things, it had some flawed questions that I wasn’t sure how to answer. I think that explains the Socialist, Fascism and Democrat scores.

What Political Party Do Your Beliefs Put You In?
created with QuizFarm.com

You scored as Anarchism.

Anarchism

100%

Republican

83%

Socialist

33%

Fascism

25%

Democrat

17%

Nazi

0%

Communism

0%

Green

0%

The second one I’m publicly challenging Elena to take and report back her results. I didn’t do as well as I thought I would, but I’m not ashamed of my results. I found it to be a fairly difficult test overall and, unlike the silly political and personality quizzes, this one should be reliable because it’s fairly absolute. You’re either right or wrong. Assuming the creator of the quiz knows what they’re doing, it’s going to be a mostly accurate representation.

Of course that’s putting aside that it’s a short quiz and thus a small sample. I’m sure I would score higher than 60% on Vocabulary and higher than 80% on Spelling with a larger sample. On the other hand, I would expect to score much lower than 100% on Punctuation with a larger sample. Maybe I’m wrong, though. I was a county spelling bee champ as a child, but having system-wide, real-time spell check has made me lazy in that regard.

Your English Skills:

Punctuation: 100%
Grammar: 80%
Spelling: 80%

  1. Bravo!

I think I have to wait till I can get on a non-work computer. They don’t like our playing online games, and I’m not sure if quizzes qualify as games. I have been wanting to take that particular quiz—anything to help prepare me for the GRE. ;o)

  2. I suppose I need to break out my old Wordly Wise books and REALLY review my vocabulary. That’s just a terribly low score:

    Your English Skills:

    Grammar: 80%

    Punctuation: 80%

    Spelling: 60%

    Vocabulary: 40%

  3. Anarchism – 100%
    Republican – 67%
    Fascism – 58%
    Socialist -33%
    Nazi – 25%
    Democrat – 0%
    Communism -0%
    Green – 0%

This is quite a flawed quiz. Even still, I’d rather rate higher as a Nazi than a Democrat. Oh wait, they’re virtually the same thing. Never mind.

I don’t know where that facist rating comes from though.

  4. I took a beating. My results were so bad that posted the results in Espanol.

  5. Republican 100%
    Anarchism 75%
    Socialist 33%
    Fascism 17%
    Democrat 0%
    Nazi 0%
    Communism 0%
    Green 0%

    Just by way of comparison…

  6. Did this over at Bane’s…

    Grammar 100%
    Spelling 100%
    Vocabulary 100%
    Punctuation 60%

I always enjoy the geeky English tests. =P

  7. And…

    Anarchism 83%
    Republican 67%
    Socialist 50%
    Green 17%
    Fascism 17%
    Communism 17%
    Democrat 0%
    Nazi 0%

Um, at least I’m not a Nazi?

Seriously though, if free people want to voluntarily cooperate with each other, that’s fine. I’m not going to stop them – why does that make me a socialist? I don’t like the way they phrased a lot of the questions on that test.

  8. Go, Arielle, go! =o]

  9. Thus saith Flicka Spumoni

My score was so low they posted the results in Espanol.

  10. Thus saith Flicka Spumoni

How come I can’t post on your sight anymore? What’s up if that, homey? Where’s the love?

  11. Off topic, but Flicka asked me to tell you that since you changed formats, she’s tried to post 6-7 times and each time it won’t allow her to. Do you have any suggestions?

Some of my posts still say ‘awaiting moderation’ as well. I don’t know what’s up with that.

  12. Reporting from Pink Kitty’s computer. Here are my results. Nigh shocking…

  13. I took the quiz and posted my results online, but the comment didn’t show up. Hrm….???

  14. Err…guess it did show up. Odd…
