A warning indeed

Thursday, March 24th, 2005

This is interesting (in the Chinese proverb sense), if you can get past the pathetic attempt at transcription and all the errors.

(Don’t waste your time reading it. Scroll down. The really interesting part is at the very end where it explains that the speaker’s dead and why.)

Kenneth Copeland is still alive and looking younger as the years go by.

Walter Martin is a victim of Isaiah 54:17 in action. Everything he said has been repudiated. He was wrong. He was very, very wrong.

We would all be well advised to heed the advice that God gave the exact same way twice (I Chronicles 16 and Psalms 105) saying, “Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.”

I’m not saying I’m one. But I’ll fist fight with ya over Kenneth Copeland.

A few words of explanation

I have nothing but graceful love for people messed up in religion.

There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Somewhere in Romans 8 – I don’t feel like looking it up.)

I despise religion because it hurts people.

Religion is evil. All of ‘em. Yeah, yours too.

Religion is nothing more than satan’s most successful attempt to keep you from God.

I’m not attacking people, I’m attacking the ideas that deceive them.

More religious debunking

Thursday, March 24th, 2005

Today is the day we should have commemorated the sacrificial death of Christ.

Religious people will “celebrate” it on Friday.

He was crucified on Wednesday. As Serena said elsewhere, “Do the math.”

Three nights. Three days. (Jonah 1:17, Matthew 12:40)

He also was not raised from the dead on Sunday morning. He was raised on Saturday evening. But then if you’re religious, you don’t have the Sabbath figured out, either. Unless you’re Jewish.

Ever wonder why the secular celebration of Easter is all about eggs and rabbits?

The catholic “church” merged the death and resurrection of our Savior with a pagan holiday to make their religion palatable to the pagans they were trying to convert. Easter is a pagan holiday celebrating Spring and its fertility gods.

It’s really kind of sad (and telling) that in all the years since Martin Luther, the protestant religions haven’t figured that out and they’re still fighting over “predestination.” How stupid.

This coming Saturday night, my children and I will (symbolically) celebrate the resurrection of our Savior. We will do it with teaching, Communion and prayer that will include prayer for those deceived by the Easter Bunny and religion.

Seriously. Give it some thought.

On responsibility

Religion’s a dangerous and evil thing.

One of its greatest deceptions is that God is in control of everything. If that’s true, He’s the beast that the “atheists” believe He is. I cannot and will not serve a God like that. If I believed what religion taught, I would be with the atheists, shaking my fist in His face and hoping He doesn’t exist.

You can’t have it both ways and you don’t have to continue trying.

He’s only in control of earthly events to the degree that humans choose to learn about Him and the proper way to involve Him. The Bible makes this clear assuming that you’re paying attention to what He put in the book and not blinded by stupidity that men made up to try explain away God’s apparent evilness (created out of their stupidity and misunderstanding).

I’m now being accused of preaching that God is my servant. I’ve got news for you, I respect Him more than that, but He is. Because He chose to be.

Was Jesus Christ God in the flesh? Did He not spend his whole life serving the people around him? (John 13)

God is a servant. That’s what Love does. When you begin to understand that it will inspire real love and true worship. As long as you gloss over it with religious platitudes, you’ll never get it.

He serves me because He is Love. I serve Him because of that Love and as He teaches me how. (It’s humbling to realize that we’re all selfish and He’s not. It is impossible for a human being to be selfless. Everything you do, even towards God is selfish.)

Love serves. First Corinthians 13 makes that clear. First John (and other places) make it clear that He IS Love.

If you don’t believe He’s your servant, you’ve completely misunderstood who He is and what the whole book was for.

Tolerance in action

Monday, March 21st, 2005

Drudge is reporting that the editor of Playgirl magazine has been fired as a result of “liberal backlash” after Matt pre-published excerpts of her self-written “Republican outing” in the April issue of the magazine.

I don’t care. Not a bit. I’m a libertarian. But I find it amusing and telling.

The tolerant are only tolerant when you agree with them. I wonder how much of the “liberal backlash” was because the magazine is mostly “read” by homosexual men?
